Cracked heels are one of the most common foot problems we all experience. This foot problem can transpire to both adults and children and shows that it affects the ladies more often than gentlemen.
Others look at this as a minor problem, but for some who experience discomfort and pain, it is really serious.
There are many ways that you can apply in order to avoid heel cracks. One of it is through soaking and exfoliating. The skin throughout the cracked heels is thick and dry and so it splits when pressure is applied such as when standing for a long time. Soaking, exfoliating and moisturizing your feet can surely help with this. Here are some simple tips you can apply at home.
Fill the basin with lukewarm water. Add a liquid soap. Pour half a cup of mouthwash like Listerine. Lastly, you may essential oil if you like.
Soak your feet up to 30 minutes.
Step 2: Exfoliating
While your feet are still wet and the cracks or dead skin are still soft, use a foot scrubber, loofah or a pumice stone exfoliate your skin. Remember, rub it gently until everything wears off or until you feel you are satisfied.
Step 3: Moisturizer
After exfoliating, wash your feet and pat dry. Once its dry, apply a moisturizer on your feet. It could be a heel balm, petroleum jelly or just regular lotion. You may also use foot mask like the Pinx Foot Care Mask. If you are about to go to sleep when doing this routine, you may wear socks after applying moisturizer. This helps to moisturize the dry skin further making it easier to exfoliate the next time you do the routine.
